The hebrew word, “Miqdem”, in the book of
Genesis is often translated as “the east”,
as in:

“The Lord God planted a garden in the east”.

The same word can have an alternative interpretation,
which indicates a temporal rather than geographical place, “at the beginning”.

Therefore an equally valid reading is;

“The Lord God planted a garden
at the beginning [of time]”.

These two
meanings can
be ideally fused
on the horizon to the east,
where the Sun and the stars rise,
where the day, and time begins.
